Of this type are knock-knock joke, light bulb joke, the many variations on “why did the chicken cross the road?”, and the class of “What’s the difference between…” joke, where the punch line is often a pun or a spoonerism linking two apparently entirely unconnected concepts.

The real trick to finding a good joke is finding the right place and audience to tell the joke. A joke intended for somebody facing 10 years in prison is not the joke to be telling a Rabbi on the mount. Oh, did you hear about the Priest the Monk and the Rabbi who went into a bar? Oh, and that is all of the fingers on your right hand and all but the pinky and wedding ring finger on the left hand. Poking fun also works well if a little competition is going on. If there is a wide perception about a group of people, regardless of how big that group happens to be, there are likely going to be jokes floating around about that group. Competing schools for instance; what happened when Joe, the football player, transferred from UCLA to USC? The GPA for both schools went up. And now, to complete the running gag for blondes, the answer to; how do you keep blondes in suspense is.

Humor and jokes should be allowed in the work place to allow a happier and more jovial work environment. A funny joke can cheer up a person’s day and a little humor can relieve stress. If an individual is responsible to not offend a person and the company encourages their work force to be happy working for ‘The Man’ wouldn’t be so bad.

Some would say that they could pretend nothing is wrong and move on with their lives, just as if they didn’t have a single thing to deal with, but those are just very exceptional. I met a few folks, who, from time to time, when they feel gloomy or moody, visit one of the many web websites featuring those humorous videos, pictures or in really rare cases jokes. Enjoying those web pages is probably one of the cheapest and the most easiest ways of having fun, without a fear you’ll get obsessed with it, nor that you’re throw your money as they’re free of charge. Its healthy to have more fun and not let anything bother us at those stressful times, so we should all do something funny and think positively.

For instance, don’t you feel a bit awkward every time someone who you know, is not a good at telling jokes, and this person constantly tries to break the ice with his/her less than funny jokes?, it has happened to me and everyone. I just wish that for once I wouldn’t be the one saying the bad jokes! Learning how to use irony, juxtaposition and delivery can set you apart from the rest of the boring people, so help change the world for the best. So why do funny pick up lines get such a terrible press? Women are forever complaining about the cheesy jokes men tell to get their attention, and it’s hard to find an advice article which doesn’t recommend ditching the one liners and simply saying hello.

What’s a guy to do?

I’m not going to suggest scrapping your pick up lines. Faced with a gorgeous girl, many men find that having something witty and pre-prepared to say is what gives them the courage to go on over and talk to her.

I am going to suggest re-thinking how your lines are delivered, though.

Pick up lines suffer from many problems, not least of which is how dated they can be. The first time a man stated that heaven must be missing an angel velvet bell bottoms and dodgy moustaches were all the rage. Most jokes get less funny with each telling, so if you want to get a girl’s attention avoid delivering any line which is more than a few months old.

Don’t make the mistake of confusing a crude joke with a pick up line. Even if all they’re after is a one night stand, women like to feel appreciated. Your line should imply that she’s beautiful, special and sexy —" not that she’s a bit of a slut, so if your joke’s got anything to do with sex or genitalia you need to give it a miss.

Bear in mind that no matter how witty your one liner, if it sounds too well rehearsed the girl will turn and walk away. Perfectly timed, impeccably delivered pick up lines give girls the impression that you go around chatting up every hot chick you see. Perhaps you do —" but it’s best if the women don’t realise it. Girls like to believe that they’re somehow special, so stumble over your words a little and stop her from feeling like one in a long line of ladies.

Alternatively, if your pick up line is a bit passé, you can still make it work for you by showing a little shame. Deliver your line stylishly with a self-deprecating smile, then laugh at yourself and apologise. Stating, “I’m sorry that was so corny, but I really wanted to talk to youâ€� is incredibly flattering and bound to make a girl grin.

There really is nothing more attractive to the average girl than a guy who can make her laugh. Pick up lines may not be a popular approach any more, but a genuinely funny joke will make any single chick stop and give you a chance.

Girls are just as nervous about meeting new people as we are, so whether you greet her with a one liner or an offer of a drink, any excuse to start a conversation with you will be welcomed. Keep it clean, calm and delivered with a pinch of apology and any good pick up line is going to do its job.
